Sonnax has designed a shim 77409-15 (.015" thick) to better help the needs of the rebuilder in the selection of shims when checking for front unit endplay. This .015" shim was designed to beplaced between the front input OE selective and the drum pocket. This allows for quick set-up and adjustment when excessive endplay has been determined.
Installation Instructions Measure assembled unit endplay with a dial indicator on the input shaft. Load the shaft inward, zero the dial indicator, then pull the input shaft out towards the pump. The reading obtained on the dial indicator is the total unit endplay. OEM specification is .005" to .036", and OEM washers range from .074" to .120". The Sonnax shim is .015" thick.
